“MOSES PARTS THE RED SEA” : WHY YOUR LIFE HASN’T STARTED YET

Moses is one of my favorite figures from The Bible. His life is unique, at so many different levels. He started life with a death sentence above his head. (by the way, if you think that you are late in life, try to stay with me through the text.).

But before, If you came here for the first time, welcome ! My name is Efisio Cross, I’m a neoclassical music composer from France. Many of my compositions have for contemplation Biblical themes, and this new one above is about Moses!

In circa 1526 BC, The Pharaoh of his time, afraid of the Hebrews demographic growth, was killing all the newborn male, and oppressing the rest of the people, through intense slavery. Moses’s mother, by faith, put her baby in a basket, made of reed, and let him go on the Nile River. God’s Providence made the baby arrived to the actual daughter of Pharaoh who was taking a bath in the river in the same moment. Full of compassion for the young boy, she decided to adopt him and raised him. (Book of Exodus, Chapter 2)

Moses was raised in a royal palace and became naturally a very high rank in the Egyptian empire. He was taught in all the Egyptian knowledge and was powerful both wisdom and words. Around the age of 40, he decided to visit the hard condition of his own people. Witnessing an Hebrew being hard-beaten by an Egyptian, Moses interposed, killed the Egyptian and hide his body under the sand. Realizing his mistake — as the act was already known in Egypt — he fled the country. He arrived in the land of Midian. (probably the north-west of modern Saudi Arabia). There, he found his wife and became a shepherd for his father in law, for more than… 40 years!

Nothing special happened in Moses life for 40 years. Moses probably knew, inside of him, that his life was different. When he killed the Egyptian, he demonstrated that he had in heart to be a defense for his own people. But, how he displayed it was a mistake. It was not God doing, but his own. The time for his destiny had not arrived yet. But, was it true, that nothing happened for 40 years? No, I believe a lot happened, but within Moses’s Heart and personality. God was certainly and intensely working on the inside.

You might think you have «missed it» in life. Permit me to say this : You haven’t missed anything if you take the decision to follow God. I’ll explain later. Imaging Moses’s heart during those years. Maybe he thought : «That’s it! I will be a shepherd for the rest of my life and will enjoy a simple life. After all, I might be not be built, nor chosen to deliver or help anyone, furthermore I do have killed an Egyptian!». Maybe he believed that his life was over.

You could think the same. But God says otherwise. After 40 years of silence guess who encountered Moses, face to face? God Almighty — within a Burning Bush. How? Moses was tending the flocks. He was doing his everyday thing and God encountered Him. You might know the rest of the story. God commanded Moses to deliver His people from Egyptian bondage, with colossal and massive miracles. And it happened. Moses’ life started at 80 years old.

You too, have a goal on this earth to accomplish. God created you for a purpose, and it’s up to you to embrace it or not. You and I have the choice. We can live this life with, or without God.

According to Jesus, God is Holy and Just. He cannot tolerate evil and will punish it. The problem is that, you and I already have accumulated our own deal of evil since the age of consciousness. Even if we did good things, the evil is there, and needs to be punished. (have we lied, hated, steal, cheated, cursed, you name it). The ultimate payment to satisfy God’s Justice and Holiness is death. We all deserve death because of our sins. We cannot enter Eternity to come. God is too Holy.

But, according to Jesus, God is also Love. More accurately — God is Love itself. God does not want you and me to be punished and to die. Instead of punishing you and me, God became a man, through the Persona of Jesus-Christ of Nazareth and lived a morally perfect life. He never sinned, nor did any kind of possible evil. Jesus’s Life was Perfect and God-Pleasing in all possible area. Instead of punishing you and me, God punished Himself at the Cross of Calvary.

When Jesus was arrested and put to torture and Crucifixion, He was paying the price of our sins. While dying on The Cross, He absorbed within His body, all the wrongs you and I did. All of our sins were transferred in His Body. When Jesus died, our sins died in His Person as well. You lied? Transferred in His Body. You hated, kill, steal, cheated? Transferred in His Body.

Jesus says that, if you believe, sincerely from you heart, that He died at your place, and Resurrected to save you from your sins and eternal punishment, you will be saved. What does « being saved » mean? It means that you will never have to endure God’s Judgement. God will never judge you, nor punish you for your sins. They have been destroyed and paid fully by Jesus-Christ’s Sacrifice. God sees you Perfect and Clean. Like you did no evil at all. He sees you completely washed and bright. This is how God loved you and me. Furthermore, you will be granted Eternal Life.

If you want to accept God’s Love for you, if you want to be saved, it’s very simple, you can go in a quiet place and say those words :

« Dear Lord Jesus,

I have heard about you, but I don’t know you personally. I have heard that you died to pay the price of my evil, sins and mistakes, to make sure that I will be with you, on earth, and in the Eternal Life to come. I accept your Sacrifice into my heart. I believe that you died and resurrected to save me. Please, reveal yourself to me, show me that all of this is true and show me how much you love me,

I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ,
Amen »

If you’ve been sincere, you are now saved. I encourage you to live with God everyday of your life. He wants your heart. He wants to hear you all the time. He wants you to become one with Him. Read The Scriptures as much as you can, because God gave them to mankind to know Him better, and live according to His heart. Yon don’t have to be part of any group or movement. You only have to be part of God’s Heart and His Scriptures. He will guide you and help you to live right by giving you what He calls “The Holy Spirit” (His Own Spirit inside of you), and avoid sin. If you fall on the way, don’t run from Jesus. Instead, run even faster to Him. He will never abandon you. Pray to find other believers that will be a blessing to your Christian walk.

Moses was called to liberate his people from Egyptian bondage. In a similar way, you are called to liberate people from darkness and Satan’s bondage. By showing them the way to God, you will fulfilled your destiny! Ask God to show you the purpose of your life and be patient!

Love you all so much!

Efisio
